News!
SORTA LIKE A ROCK STAR has won the Michigan Library Association's THUMBS UP! AWARD, which was "established in 1986 to recognize the excellence in, and to celebrate the uniqueness of, Teen/Young Adult literature. A committee, consisting of Young Adult and Teen Librarians from all over Michigan, met several times during the year to determine the winner. This year's committee members included Amelia Yunker, Chair, Zandra Blake, Allison Boyer, Virginia DeMumbrum, Beth Green, Laura Manley, Sian Marshall, Jamie Micka, Erin Strand, Emily Trousdale and Sally Wilcox. Since 2001, the Thumbs Up! Award selection process has also included a teen vote." Thank you, Michigan!
SORTA LIKE A ROCK STAR was also named a finalist for ALAN's Amelia Elizabeth Walden Book Award For Young Adult Fiction.
Check back tomorrow for an interview with the always wise and informative Roland Merullo. You don't want to miss that.
To be continued and please keep being you.
